Swift Driver Training Terms and Conditions

PLEASE READ ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN FULL.

You will need to sign a hard copy on your first lesson

This agreement is made between The Pupil if over 18 or legal guardian if under 18 and Andy Akehurst (Swift Driver Training Eastbourne)

  1. You MUST bring a licence Check Code and your licence with you on your first lesson. Check code can be obtained from https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence the check code is valid for 21 days so don’t get the code more than 3 weeks before you start .You should bring the licence to all lessons. No check is needed if I have already checked before the first lesson

  2. The pupil must pass an eyesight test in able to drive, details to be found on https://www.gov.uk/driving-eyesight-rules

  3. A £40 CANCELLATION DEPOSIT must be paid at the start of the course , lesson fees must be paid before the start of the lesson.

  4. Any lesson cancelled with LESS THAN 24 hours or any lesson not turned up for, the CANCELLATION DEPOSIT WiLL BE USED. If the deposit is used during the course of lessons the DEPOSIT will raise to the full lesson price Then must be repaid before the next lesson. Any Cancellations must be given in text or email.

  5. If the pupil is late for an agreed lesson or the pick up point is changed, the full price of agreed lesson will be charged.

  6. The CANCELLATION DEPOSIT is returned to the pupil on the last agreed lesson or can be used for part payment on the test day (if the test is not successful, then the deposit must be repaid before any further lessons)

  7. If two or more lessons are cancelled in one month your regular lesson slot will be offered to new enquires on the day of the second cancellation, until regular lessons are resumed . Regular cancellations may result in your regular lessons being cancelled

  8. If you would like me to book your Practical Test I must receive payment for any tests before any booking can be made.

  9. I will hire the pupil a dual controlled car for the purpose of tuition.

  10. I will hire to the pupil a dual controlled car for the purpose of taking the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Driving Test. (only if the pupil is up to the DVSA standard)

  11. I reserve the right to change the tuition car without notice.

  12. I reserve the right to refuse the use of the tuition car to a pupil, for the purpose of tuition, or for the driving test ,if I feel the pupil is not up to the required standard.

  13. I reserve the right to change the date or cancel a driving test that I have booked.

  14. I will insure that the tuition car is maintained and insured to the required standards.

  15. I will insure the pupil against accident injury and third party risks whilst using the tuition car.

  16. Priorities will be given to pupils that are waiting for their Practical Test.

  17. Driving in-between lessons is encouraged, but please drive the way you have been learning.

  18. I cannot be held responsible for any items left in the car during/after a lesson.

  19. Lessons must be paid for either by bank transfer or cash BEFORE OR AT THE START OF THE LESSON

  20. I have the right to change the lesson prices with 7 days’ notice either in writing or verbally

  21. The pupil must have the right attitude to learn, please do not just think of your driving on your lessons.

  22. Please note that Practical Tests can only be booked after the Theory Test has been passed, and that the test date is governed by the DVSA availability. If you would like me to book your Practical Test I must receive payment for any tests before any booking can be made.

  23. It is Important to note that once a Practical Test has been booked, it is most important to keep the regular lessons going up to the test date, to give you maximum chance of passing.

  24. If the you are not successful in passing your test, you must let me know if you can carry on with your regular lesson times, so that I know if I can sell that space to someone on a waiting list.

  25. Passengers are permitted in the car but this is not encouraged. If this becomes a distraction the lesson may be stopped early, but must be paid for in full.

  31. Some lessons may involve working breaks away from the tuition vehicle ( to discuss progress look at lesson plans etc)

  32. Mobile phones must be turned off or on silent during the lesson.

  33. Please note that if too many lessons are cancelled, this may result in losing regular slots you may have. Pupils with the least cancelations will always get priority.

  34. If I suspect the pupil is under the influence of drink or drugs, the lesson and the course maybe terminated.

  35. If you are on medication that may affect your driving, you must inform me prior to your lesson, DO NOT DRIVE IF YOU ARE UNSURE

  36. If the car or anything else is damaged in anyway during a lesson, I have the right to ask for full or part payment of the damage from the pupil, if it is deemed that the pupil had not listened or taken instruction appropriately.

    Data Protection

The personal information I have collected is essential for business. I try to keep information separate where possible.

Non essential information is deleted as and when no longer required (licence check information) Other information is deleted after your coarse has ended.

Contact information is kept on my phone/iPad in normal contact apps

Addresses are kept on lesson progress sheets. With password protection

Payment records are kept on progress sheets. With password protection

Your phone number is used to add you to the Swift Driver Training WhatsApp groups. If you don’t want to be added please let me know ASAP. on 07887955077
